Texas A&M University, Bachelor's Interdisciplinary Studies; Texas State University: Master's in Counseling
I have worked in the school setting for almost 17 years. I was a special education teacher for 14 of those 17 years working with students with all different abilities. The last 3 years I have been an elementary school counselor. I am the youngest of 3 children, and have 4 children of my own. I enjoy reading, spending time outside, volunteering in my community, and I enjoy helping others. A fun fact about me is that I have a yellow dog that we named Vanellope, after Vanellope Von Sweets from Wreck It Ralph. Having worked in schools for almost 17 years I had the pleasure to help students when they have been struggling with all types of mental health concerns. I am a solution-focused counselor who wants to help individuals find their own voice and abilities to be able to learn to help themselves. Helping people learn how to become resilient, and learn new ways to cope with the stress of life is where I find my passion. If you are feeling anxious, depressed, withdrawn, unseen, or unheard I am here to help you find your inner strength.
