I worked in public education for two decades as a special education teacher, responsible for engaging with a team of professionals and family members to create and implement educational plans. An important aspect of my program was integrating the studentās social and emotional needs with their academic support. I ensured my studentsā guardians received the education and empowerment to make informed decisions regarding their childās needs. I have supported children aged preschool to high school who present with ADHD, ADD, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, Intellectual Disadvantage, Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and Learning Disability. I teach children how to be independent learners and problem solvers. I am here to help families navigate difficult situations, this could mean learning better communication and establishing routines or navigating difficult feelings, like fear and loss.
