My Name is Claudia Fuentes-Peña and I have 16 years of experience working with youth, adolescent and family providing individual and family therapy at a private organization. I was able to serve inner city youth and provided counseling at schools to collaborate with teachers and school social workers to provide recommendations for classroom and overall school performance. I was also able to refer many youth and adolescent to near by psychiatric hospitals for evaluations for medication monitoring. As for my hobbies I enjoy photography and traveling throughout the United States and have also gone to warm countries to enjoy the aqua blue waters with my family. As for one of my fun facts is that I have so much energy and it's difficult for me to sit still, I am always on the go and enjoy working with people and very outgoing. My ideal client was struggling with managing explosive anger and felt that teachers just wanted to expel him from school. Client stated that he was not sure why he was so angry but could not control himself due to things getting him so upset. I was able to show client ways to have self-control and also taught self-regulation and ways to express himself without cursing at adults and students around him. Client just wanted to be able to succeed and graduate from school to make his single mother proud due to always having to leave work early due to constant calls from school. I was able to help client to be evaluated and after a couple of inpatient evaluations he was able to be prescribed medications to help with uncontrolled Bipolar. I was the only person he felt comfortable talking to and expressing his emotions and anger due to feeling I was not judging him or thinking less of him. I provide CBT and DBT session to my clients, I am very empathetic, active listener and patient with my clients.
