I have been employed as a medical social worker after receiving my Bachelors degree. I later become a hospice social worker and grief counselor. After working with families in their homes when their loved one was recently discharged from the hospital, I found I wanted to do more for families. I completed my supervision hours for licensure so I could become a licensed therapist. Then I started my own private practice. I enjoy working with families who want to communicate more effective. I find cognitive behavioral therapy helps families solve their problems in a positive, thoughtful way. I find it very rewarding to see families change in a way their initially perceive their problems can't be solved. In a few weeks. their perception changes. They find their choices have changed and their opportunities for success have increased. I love gardening. I watch plants grow or not and learn from my mistakes. I raised 3 children and enjoy my grandchildren. My childhood was not the best but it taught me that children need advocates and need a voice that can be heard.
