I am a first-generation Latina, I grew up in San Ysidro, CA, a small border town in San Diego. Growing up so close to the U.S.-Mexico border, I often visited my family in Tijuana, embracing the rich blend of both cultures. I faced significant academic and mental health challenges during high school and often doubted whether I could earn a college degree. I’m so glad I didn’t give up and sought the support I needed, which helped me reach where I am today professionally.
